Daring Do knows a little bit about astronomy. Not very much, just enough to help her to navigate during expeditions to unexplored ruins and the like. 
One clear night, she decides to take Maud out on a star-gazing date. Maud eventually falls asleep because she's much more interested in rocks than stars.
Daring doesn't mind, being together is enough.
